Senior Interior Architect


We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Interior Architect to join our growing interior architecture studio. This is a senior leadership role for a motivated and detail oriented professional with strong design vision, proven project management ability in both residential and commercial sectors, and experience leading team in a fast paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Directors, contributing innovative design concepts, layouts, and creative direction across multiple large scale projects

  • Lead the development of detailed drawing packages, schedules, tender documentation, and specifications to the highest professional standards

  • Oversee and manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables from concept through to completion

  • Mentor, manage, and review the work of NORTH team members, providing design guidance and quality control

  • Approve drawing packages prior to issue, ensuring accuracy and consistency with NORTH standards

  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and trades, ensuring seamless communication and execution on site

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, leading client presentations and meetings with professionalism and creativity

  • Monitor project hours, team resourcing, and reporting progress to Directors, with proactive management of timelines and workloads

  • Lead tender processes, cost analysis, and value engineering, managing variations and maintaining financial oversight throughout

  • Work across a variety of scales, from large residential homes to significant commercial projects (budgets €1m+)

  • Represent the studio’s design ethos and uphold the highest standards of creativity, detail, and execution.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or related discipline

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience working across commercial and large scale residential projects, including proven on-site experience

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both creative vision and technical proficiency

  • Advanced skills in CAD, Photoshop, and detailed technical drawing production (plans, joinery details, elevations, and specifications/FF&E)

  • Excellent hand sketching ability to communicate design concepts (Procreate or similar)

  • Proficiency with Mac OS software

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team of 4+ designers, balancing leadership with a collaborative, approachable style

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience in client-facing roles

  • Excellent project management and time tracking abilities, comfortable managing multiple large scale projects simultaneously

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Full, clean driver’s license essential

  • Impeccable professional appearance and manner, representing NORTH to clients and industry partners.

  • A proactive, solutions focused mindset with exceptional attention to detail

Work Environment:

  • Creative office-based role located just off Baggot Street on Mespil Road, Ballsbridge

  • Option for remote work, with 2 work-from-home days per month

  • 20 days holidays per year plus Christmas off
